Retro Flashback – The Bedroom Hallway Before and After

Hallway BeforeHere is our bedroom hallway exactly as it was before we bought our house.  There is such a flurry of activity after you buy a house, and we had so many things to take care of before we moved.  We were pressed for time, as people who move always are, and we picked out all of our paint colors in one night. It was probably around 9 or 10 at night and we were walking around with cards from the Sherwin Williams Suburban Modern collection, holding them up to walls and trying to picture our furniture. By the time we got to the hallway, I was burnt out.

“What do you think of Chartreuse?” Tom said to me, holding up the card to the gold doorknobs in the hallway.

“Yeah, seriously. I think we should paint this hallway Chartreuse.”

“Okay,” I said, “If that is what you want.”  But I was thinking I should probably talk him out of painting the whole hallway that color. Maybe just one wall, two tops.

But I am glad I didn’t talk him out of it!

Hallway After

It is a great color. I love it. And I think it really showcases our awesome pink bathroom at the end of the hall. Way to go, Tom!

Those built-in cabinets are to die for! And the color looks great! Sometimes the hubbies come up with good ideas.

It looks great! – and you’re right in that it really makes the bathroom pop. Good show hubby! (and ooh…I love those built-ins)
