March 30, 2009Mid-Century Monday – Vintage Bathroom
Hubs and I were at another auction this weekend. I think we might be hooked! We had a great time, and I will post everything we bought later this week. For now, I thought everyone would like to see a vintage bathroom with a super cute faucet.
The auction was held in the town hall of Auburn, MI, a small local town near us. The inside of the hall was pure vintage 1950’s, and everything was in very good shape, despite being a public building.
Here is the inside of the ladies’ bathroom. Not pink, like I had hoped, but a nice neutral white, gold and green. The sinks were in great shape, though.
Here are the faucets, with a really neat sunburst design. And they still worked great!Vintage laminate countertop under the mirror. It was a gold “faux marble”.
Vintage paper towel holder. Shiniest one I have ever seen. Ever!Last, but not least, the vintage 9×9 tiles on the floor, in a nice shade of green. The main room had 9x9s as well, but they were plain white with no real splatter in them. Ah well!
In any case, the auction that we attended was done by Rod Bulter Auctions. He was really good, and pretty funny. If you are in the area and interested in coming to an auction, check out the Auction Exchange. They actually list auctions for Michigan and Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania. They even have a weekly newspaper!
