April 24, 2009Johnson’s Wax Decorating Ideas for A Weepy Girl
Err…I mean…for the Romantic type. Which, according to Johnson Wax is the type of girl to weep at the end of stories or movies with sad endings. You poor, poor girl.
In any case, today is another excerpt from the great book, “How To Have A Prettier Room” by Johnson’s Wax. No publication date on this one, but from the illustrations I am guessing in the 50’s. Last time we looked at how the Artistic Type should decorate, but today we are going to focus all of our…err…dreamy planning skills on decorating for the Romantic Type. Or something.
I do like the pearls and the bow though. I think I might have to steal that look….
First off, determining if you are the Romantic Type:
Are you dreamy and weepy? Are you sentimental and do you like pink? Do you keep a diary and plan ahead? No wait…is that last one right? Anyway, here you go! The Romantic Room of your dreams. Actually, the room looks cute, especially the hat rack with purses on it.
Hmm…splatterpainting a wood floor, huh? I don’t know if I feel comfortable with painting a wood floor, unless it is really, really beat up, but the picture is cute. I LOVE the dressing table with the pink accents. But what I don’t understand is this: how can the Romantic Girl be able to saw and assemble her own dressing table when the Artistic Girl had to ask her brother for help to complete her desk, which is basically the same structure? Hmm…a mystery that may never be solved….
I love the satin heart bulletin board! So cute. Also the ruffled skirt is an idea that I have actually used in previous years. Once again, the hat rack is awesome.
So, that is it for you Romantic Types! Still to come, the Outdoor Type and the Prom Personality….ummmm…hooray?
