Some Quick Thrift Finds – Cute Girl Wallhanging and Wooden Bird Bowl

I am busy being a good housewife today and unpacking from my trip, so here are some pictures of a few of my recent thrifting finds:

vintage-finds-065The first is this great wallhanging of a kneeling girl in a white dress.  Believe it or not, I found this wallhanging in a set of vintage science books that I picked up.  I thought one felt a little bulky, but I didn’t think I would find a whole fabric wallhanging inside!  This wallhanging is especially charming because of this little bird,

vintage-finds-066Adorable, isn’t he?

And here is the set of books that it was found in…vintage-finds-070

An awesome set of children’s science books from the 1950’s.  I haven’t decided whether I want to sell them just as they are (they are in great shape), or if I want to cut them up and use the illustrations for crafts.

And last, but not least, a great wooden bowl with a cardinal handpainted on it.vintage-finds-035

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I love those books! I remember in the 70’s having books like that 🙂

I have the same problem with some of my vintage books – do you preserve them as they are because they are in such good condition, or use them for something else, something that might actually be seen and appreciated more? Let us know what you decide, because they look awfully cute!
