New Vintage Finds – Thrify Mania!

vintage-finds-008Check out my new thrift finds!  I decided to ride my bike around town on Friday and go to some garage sales.  I only had so much room in my backpack, but I managed to fit in all of these lovelies.

Here is the first of my finds, a pretty little serving tray with a condiment bowl.  The wood finish matches the woodwork in our kitchen, and I love the little toothpick holes around the bowl! It is made by Woodpecker Woodware.

By the way, this is photographed on my “new” craft table Hubs just bought me. Love it!

Here is a really pretty gold and turquoise vase I picked up at a garage sale down the street, only a couple of houses down from mine. The guy who was selling it said that his mom had it up in their cabin for years!

Last item is a cute blue covered pyrex dish. Love this color, and no chips or cracks!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Great items Ruth! I am jealous of your garage sales. I have been slowly collecting the same Pyrex containers in pink. It seems if you buy the whole set from a dealer, or antique store, or something, they want like $100 for the whole pink set – way to much for me. So I would buy a piece here or there for $8 or $10, or so, and I have finally completed the 4 piece set! I think they are called ‘Refrigerator Sets’??? The turquoise blue is really cool too!

Those are awesome!! I want to see a photo of cheese cubes and crackers on that dish, with the colored toothpicks in those little holes! It would look like a sputnik!

You know I love the turquoise! And yes, those are called refrigerator dishes. Quite coveted, actually, especially to find them with their lids! They were meant to keep your leftovers in, before Tupperware came along. Wish I had some!

Great finds, Ruth! I love those Pyrex refrigerator dishes as well! You should get a little cart to attach to the frame of your bicycle to haul treasures back home!

Sara, send some pics of your pink Pyrex. I’ve never seen this style of Pyrex in anything but the clear.

I have my mother’s Pyrex mixing bowl set (yellow, green, red and blue) that she got as a wedding gift in 1951 and I’m so glad that I kept them.

Will do Sable! It will probably be a bit later in the week before I get them to her though – as I am sanding Heywood this week……… That is very cool that you have your Mom’s Pyrex bowl set – you are brilliant for keeping them.
