A Recent Thrift Shop – Daisy’s

Pierogi Fest & Hawaiian Frankcabobs 008Good morning, all!  This picture is from Daisy’s Thrift Shop right on the Michigan/Indiana border.  We stopped to see a lighthouse there, and saw a sign for this shop right as we were about to head out of town.

Wow, was it packed to the gills in there.  On the left is a sample photo from the lamp section.  They had some pretty cool stuff, but nothing really that we liked.   We had a brief discussion about this orange lamp, but the wood color was wrong for our house, so we decided to take a pass on it.  Now I wish we would have reconsidered this lamp for the three-season porch!

Notice all of the shirts under the lamp. This shop was cool because it was so packed. On the other hand, it was really, really difficult to pick anything up to look at it because you were afraid to knock down 20 other things.  And then there was the sensory overload.  Too much stuff. Too many colors.

“I think they are saying, ‘Buy me!’ ”

Surprisingly, things were pretty expensive here. I saw a few things that I liked, but they were all over $5 so I decided to pass. Nothing that I couldn’t live without.

Here is a shot from the just-as-packed furniture section.

The store was closing as I was running through taking these shots, so we didn’t really have a chance to take a closer look at anything.

More lamps, more furniture.

We finally were shooed out by the owner, but not before I managed to grab one last picture. We are going to have to stop here again next time we head to WI, just not right before closing time!

Good Lord, Ruth! You were right in my neck of the woods! In what town was the thrift shop located?

I know Sable, I noticed that lounger too – it looks totally cool! I wish it was not on it’s side so we could see what it really looks like.
