Vintage Crafty Saturdays – A Mid-Century Floral Arrangement for Your Table

Table Settings001Hello all,  and welcome to Vintage Crafty Saturdays!  I hope everyone liked the embroidery patterns last week.  I have decided to do something a little more practical for this week, instead of a sewing project.  I figured you all could use some mid-century knowledge that you could use every day.

Or that a housewife could use everyday!

So, here are some tips on floral arrangements courtesy of the Better Homes and Gardens Table Settings book. Unfortunately, the book never quite tells us how to set a regular dinner table, although it does have sections that talk about setting a buffet up properly, which I thought was pretty good. Stay tuned for those pages coming up soon!

In any case, if you have any floral arranging tips, feel free to comment and add them.  I wish there would have been more pics with these, but oh well! Once again, click on the picture for a close-up of the page.

I think I’ll stick with good old FTD florists!

Hmmmm, I wonder if that really works – burning the stem ends of hollow flowers??? Interesting!
