September 14, 2009Mid-Century Christmas In September – Retro Christmas Card Giveaway!
Happy Monday, all!
What’s that? You aren’t having a good Monday?? Well, it is just about to get a little better!
I have been really excited for Christmas lately, probably because of the upcoming change of seasons here in Michigan. Maybe if I get really excited about Christmas, the fact that it is actually going to be WINTER soon won’t get me down as much. Or maybe it is because this is our first Christmas here in our new house, and I am super excited about breaking out the Mid-Century Christmas decorations.
In any case, I decided to make this whole week Mid-Century Christmas Week here on the blog! I have some great Christmas crafts, some vintage photos, and a festive Mid-Century Menu to cook up for you guys. And if that isn’t enough, I am also going to have a contest and a super awesome giveaway!
Pretty sweet, isn’t it? The prize will be a really awesome set of 15 cards (3 from each card line) from Diane at The Studio at What’s Buzzin’, who specialize in retro cards, especially retro Christmas Cards! Diane says:
Set up the aluminum tree, plug in the color wheel, and put Bing on the on the hi fi – now you’re ready to write your fabulous retro Holiday cards. These cards are inspired by the vintage holiday spirit of the 1950’s & 60’s era and spread Christmas cheer in a most unique retro style. WhatsBuzzin.com is a greeting card company that specializes in the nostalgic, they are “THE Retro Christmas Card Company”.
Now that I have tempted you with the awesome prize, I should tell you the rules of the contest!
Send me your best Mid-Century Christmas picture or scan and the story behind it, and you will be entered in the contest. The picture can be a vintage shot or a modern shot, and as long as it has SOMETHING to do with Mid-Century Christmas! Send a pic of your parent’s or grandparents house for Christmas, what you got for Christmas in 1960, your grandma’s Christmas apron, a picture of your favorite vintage Christmas bowl, pretty much anything will work. Or scan a magazine ad you love, or a vintage cookie recipe. The only limits are that it has to be something I can post on the blog!
And that is the second part to the contest. All entries will be posted on the blog, and then we get to vote on who we think should be the winner!
The deadline for the entries is midnight eastern standard time on September 25th. So send them to me at nopatternrequired at hotmail.com. I am super excited to see some Mid-Century Christmas spirit out there, so send me the best you’ve got!
