Vintage Crafty Saturdays – Christmas Deer Centerpiece

Styrofoam001Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Christmas in September edition of Vintage Crafty Saturdays!

This week’s project comes from a really cute book, Christmas Styrofoam Projects, published by Kap-Pak products in 1960. It is basically just a bunch of Styrofoam projects, but they are all obviously mid-century and I think a lot of them are adorable.

Speaking of Mid-Century, have you entered the Christmas in September contest yet?  Remember, the prize is a great set of retro Christmas Cards from The Studios at What’s Buzzin’, which I adore!

Anyway, the Styrofoam craft I picked was great deer centerpiece that I thought looks very cool.  I am seriously thinking about making this one, folks, the recommended colors are chartreuse and fuschia! Sweet!

RUTH! You have got to make this and do a post on it, I just love this!!! Chartreuse is like one of the BEST colors EVER!!! I just painted a set of 50s shadowboxes chartreuse. I took a bunch of pics of the whole thing and will do a post on it eventually. Great Christmas project though!

I am seriously thinking about doing this next week, don’t worry! I have to figure out where to get a giant piece of styrofoam, and then how to keep it away from the cats!

If you want to do one of these too, that would be awesome. Then we can compare notes! 🙂

I WANT MCM SHADOWBOXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mom had 2 painted black with turquoise interiors. I still remember them and have always liked that color combination.

This is a nice project and looks fairly easy to do!
