Mid-Century House For Sale – Original Cabinets and Original Bathroom!

OutsideOh, here is a project for someone with the Mid-Century Modern vision.  I can definately see the potential in this one!  There have been some changes and paint put where it shouldn’t be, but the good bones are there, and even some of the original wallpaper. Nice.

This house is 1700 square feet and was built in 1962.  You can check out the ad here. It is in a really cute neighborhood, and they are only asking $134,900. Wow.  If you are looking for a Mid-Century dream house, move to Michigan!

I even like the curb appeal. If you trim down the bushes, remove the dish and paint the accents an MCM color, it would look amazing.

Dining Room

Look beyond the light fixtures and hideous application of paint. What do you think, guys, are those metal or wood cabinets? With a new floor and a few gallons of paint remover, this would be a sweet room.

I wonder what color these cabinets were before they were painted? Metal or wood? They look like metal to me.  Hmmmm….Utility Room

I LOVE that countertop!

Check this bathroom out!  Ah!!!  I love it! Too bad they couldn’t find matching peach tile, because that one spot sticks out.  But it is good that they wanted to keep the tiles!

Check out this awesome bar!  I love the unique floor pattern, I wonder if that floor is cork or tile???

And this totally sweet fireplace across from the bar!  I love it!!!!

Sigh.  I adore the houses around here.

You know I love it. Those are most surely steel cabinets – and the color is likely original. That pinky-beige was offered. Hey, I like it!

Passing the smelling salts to Sable……Oh dreamy Michigan, how I love thee! You surely do have the best houses up there. I think those are definitely metal cabs. You know, Pam is probably right, I think that is the original color on those cabs. In my St. Charles catalog the show a very similar color called “Spice Brown” – a very light brown color. I think you should sneak in and check the house out in person! 😉
