Vintage Crafty Saturdays – Vintage Embroidery Stitches and Christmas Project Progress

Sewing003Ohhh…I am so slow at embroidery!!  I have been working on Christmas projects and I just haven’t be going as fast as I would like.  Ah well.  I will have to revamp my plan to give everyone a set of Day of the Week Towels.  🙂 But the Matador that I have been working on has been really fun, so at least I am enjoying myself.  And learning some new stitches, too!  I am doing some stuff I haven’t done before, and it is interesting to see how things are turning out.  I just hope no one is expecting a neatly done present.

Anyway, here are some stitches I have been looking at this week  from Sewing Book 2 by Ruth Wyeth Spears.  She has so many stitches in this book that there is no way I will ever be able to learn them all. But it is fun to try them out.  Especially since I can’t seem to get the hang of French Knots and I am looking for an alternative.

If you want to see a close-up, just click on the picture.  Enjoy!

It’s all wrinkley and not finished, but I still think it looks pretty good!!

RUTH!!! That is seriously awesome! I love that bullfighter, whoever gets that set will be VERY lucky!!! Like you said, I hope they appreciate all of your hard work – but I’m sure they will.

God, that IS good work, Ruth! I tried embroidery once but wasn’t patient enough to start a project. Holding a needle made me want to scream and pull my hair out, LOL!

Fabulous job! Since crafty stuff is my “other life” (www.frequentlywrongbutneverindoubt.com ) – I really can say that with feeling. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
