Help Spay Pets in Midland – Vote For Our Cat Midnight for SpayDay 2010!

I know, I am supposed to be posting something about being a good housewife today, but since a good housewife contributes to charitable concerns in her community, I thought I would post something about my current cause today!

If you haven’t noticed the button on the side of the blog, we entered our cat Midnight (aka Screamapillar or Screama or Pillar) in the Humane Society’s SpayDay 2010 photo contest.  Tom took a great picture last year of Pillar rolling around the living room (not the one on the left, the one on top), so we thought we would enter it to raise some money for one of the local cat rescues, S.O.S. Animal Rescue, which focuses on education about animal spaying and neutering and provides low cost spay and neuter services to the community.  The great thing about this contest is that all the “votes” you donate for the Pillar go right to S.O.S  in Midland, Michigan, unless you decide you want them to go to a different organization, or you can have them split between all participating organization!

So, click on the button below to check out Midnight and all the other cute pictures and submit a couple of bucks to help fight the overpopulation of cats and dogs. And thanks very much to everyone who has already voted for Midnight!

Ruth!! I’m so proud of you for entering Midnight in the contest and for supporting Spay and Neuter. Midnight just got ten votes from me. I’m a super cat lover. In fact, I spent the weekend nursing one of ours who’d had a little accident; that, and hand washing a boxload of mid-mod Cavitt-Shaw china that I found at our local Salvation Army last Friday.

    Go, Pillar, go!!!

Oh no, Annie! Is your kitty ok? I hate it when they get sick/injured. So sad!

Send me some pics of the china, if you can, so I can show it to everyone on the site. 🙂 And thanks so much for the votes for the Pillar!

Thank you so much for asking about her, Ruth. Please forgive my temporarily turning the blog into a pet forum! Posie has had a run-in with possibly an automobile, a dog, or another cat; no broken bones, but has an abdominal hematoma which is healing, thankfully.

Our problem has been trying to get food and water into her. It makes me so sad when something happens to the furry family members. I think she will be fine with time.

The C-S china pattern is “Ranchero”, I believe. It’s plain, pale yellow, and thin; very springlike. I’ll try to get you a photo!

In the meantime, keep campaigning for the Pillar!! He’s a beaut!
