Some Blog Changes and Some Blog Updates!

By Retro Ruth

Happy Monday, everyone!  I know a cheerful greeting probaby makes everyone want to punch me in the face, but what can I say?  I am a sucker for cheer, especially when I have tons of fun blog news like….

Many of you have probably noticed one of the big changes in the blog already: new post authors!  Well, maybe not new technically, Sara and Jan have been writing the Tuesday’s Retro Guest feature for 8 months and did such a fantastic job that I insisted they write regularly on the blog.  Lucky for you guys, they agreed.  Now you will be getting much more varied and interesting content than just random nasty mid-century food and kitten videos.  Sara will be posting on Thursdays and you can reach her at sara@nopatternrequired.com if you have suggestions or ideas for topics.  Jan will be posting on Fridays and Sundays, and her email address is jan@nopatternrequired.com.

I don’t know about you guys, but I love me a vintage store.  And I know pretty much every reader here loves some great vintage eye candy too, so I say we give you guys what you want! Starting May 1st, you vintage and retro store owners and site bloggers will be able to advertise on the site for FREE!  That’s right, free! Just email me a link to your shop and a 125×125 ad and you will be in our sidebar for a whole month.  The only rule is that your shop or site has to have SOMETHING to do with retro or vintage.  And not be perverted.  So, two rules, I guess.

What do we want in return?  Nadda, except your love.  Linking back to us, friending us on Facebook, chatting about us, doing a blog post with us . All of those things would all be great payback.  Or you could…

Been dying to start a blog but never got around to it? Got a great idea to share?  Want to chat about your vintage or retro shop and need some readers?  Write a Tuesday’s Retro Guest post and share your thoughts/ideas/collections/items for sale with the retro world!  Email me at ruth@nopatternrequired.com with ideas, posts and proposals, and let’s work something out.  I know a lot of you guys leave comments all the time and you have such great things to say.  Share it with the world!

Whew…lotsa stuff.  Gotta catch my breath.  Send me some emails or leave comments below to discuss…

Thanks, Pam! I always love it when you leave comments. It makes me feel famous. Our own mid-mod celebrity, and she left a comment on our blog! Wowwwwwwwwww. 🙂 Love ya!

Sara – things went well at the adoptathon. I got some applications for the babies, even though they have yet to make an appearance. Hopefully they will all be cleared by the vet this week so we can get them into their forever homes!

Golly, Sable! I’m blushing. Thanks for your kind comments! YOU do some mighty fine work as a Retro Guest; Sara, too. Ruth is so generous to share the happiest retro blog on the block with us.
