Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

By sablemable aka Jan

This weeks featured home comes from one of our readers, Denise, who asked Ruth if we could post her grandmother’s home that is for sale.  Naturally, you know what Ruth’s answer was and now I am honored to present it to you.

The house is a bungalow;  two bedrooms and one bathroom and was built in 1954.  It’s located in the city of Lorain, Ohio which is on Lake Erie, 30 miles west of Cleveland.  There is a basement and a huge attic that can be converted into two more bedrooms.  There are also oak floors, however, they’ve been carpeted.  The asking price is $69,000.00

Here is an aerial view of Lorain, Ohio.  It’s nice to see Lake Erie alive and well again after literally dying years ago from pollution.

The front of the house.  Love the awnings, wrought iron and original aluminum storm door!

The huge backyard.

The eat-in kitchen with the original pink stove top and pink-pink-pink ceramic tile back splash!  Denise said there was a pink wall oven, but, alas, it was replaced.

The living room and the front door.  I have that same door on my 1958 ranch.

One of the two bedrooms with the original ceiling light.

The bathroom with a yellow sink and bath tub.

The attic.  Wonder what MCM treasures are hiding there?

Ditto for the basement!

This is a darling house and is well taken care of!

So, readers, if you know of someone looking for a home in the Lorain-Cleveland area, let us know so that we can contact Denise.

I’ll be re-running this post every other week until the house is sold.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gosh! That looks almost identical to my house in Michigan City! With how noisy Los Angeles is allllllll the time, I’m ready to be your Midwest neighbor again!

Hi, Saraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Yes, this house is so cute! If I were single and a Cleveland Indians fan, I’d move there in a heartbeat!

Dr. Julie! Michigan City is not far from my home in Michigan. The city has some lovely MCM homes, too.
