Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

By Sablemable aka Jan

I found another MCM home nearby in Fair Plain at 355 E. Delaware in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  The house was built in 1955 and has 3 bedrooms, 1-1/2 baths, a 2-car attached garage, basement and eat-in kitchen.  It appears to be in time-capsule condition and is waiting for lovers of Mid-Century Modern to buy it and keep it original.  How much, you ask?  $118,000.00 samolies for 1802 square feet of living area!    Naturally, it’s brick with some limestone accents.   Safe Harbor Realty, LLC  is listing it and the agent, who was not mentioned,  can be reached at 269-983-1400.

Again, I left out the bedroom photos as they were pretty standard in size.  Unfortunately, I don’t know what contractor built this home and the others in this area of Fair Plain, but it appears to be sound.  This home is a few blocks from the former Fair Plain East Elementary School, now the Creative Arts and Gifted and Talented Academy.  Still a very nice neighborhood and is close to shopping and, God forbid, the hospital.

I saw several little gems in the photos that made me swoon.  What did you find?

Fantastic handles on the kitchen cupboards! I’ve never seen that type before.

Pat! I liked the pulls, too, but what I really adored was the starburst escutcheon on the front door.

Saraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! I think the mint is really a medium blue, but it still looks good!
