Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

By Sablemable aka Jan

It is too bad that the Detroit Metro area is in dire straits economically as the housing prices in the suburbs are pretty inexpensive.

Such a house is at 543 Hidden Lane, Grosse Pointe, Michigan.  The brick ranch, built in 1954,  has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2,343 square feet of living space, a 2 car attached garage and is listed at $174,900.00.  Coldwell Banker has the listing and for more information, one can contact them through the Woodward Market Center, (248)288-3500.  Photos are courtesy of Keller Williams (www.kw.com).

Even though the photography is poor, this home has all of the features one could ever hope for in an untouched MCM home.  I particularly adore the front entry door (I’ve never seen a door like that before) and the pink corner tub.

What’s your favorite detail(s), Readers?

That basement floor is super interesting! You would almost think it would be too busy, but somehow it totally works!

God help anyone who gets intoxicated in that basement and decides to look at the floor, LOL!

I love that basement as well! As a homeowner in metro Detroit, I can only hope that things will rebound soon. We’re completely upside-down in a house that’s worth about 50% of what we paid 5 1/2 years ago. I’ve seen absolutely amazing houses go for next to nothing. *sigh* If only we had waited!
