October 4, 2010No Pattern Required Meet-Up at Rosie’s Diner
Happy Monday, all! As you saw yesterday in Jan’s post, (Hi Jan!) Jan, Sara and I finally met up for the first time recently at Rosie’s Diner in Rockford, Michigan. It was pretty awesome, both the diner and the fact that we finally got to meet each other after writing together for over a year!
Rosie’s was really fun. Sara picked it because it had been featured on Guy Fieri’s show, Diners, Drive-In & Dives on the Food Network. It was GREAT inside, I really loved it!
Pink tile and pink door. Also, a tired Tom.
And it was great outside as well! There were three dining car/metal trailer buildings together. One was Rosie’s Diner itself, the second their ice cream shop, and a third was a bar.
The ice cream shop.
The diner and the bar portion. The guy in the tan shirt on the left is Jan’s husband, Bob!
A fun miniature golf course in the back. It took me a bit to figure out the first one was fried eggs and sausages. We would have loved to play, if only it had been warmer!
Wagon wheel cinder blocks surrounding the mini-golf course.
Side exit with glass block and wagon wheel cinder blocks.
And here we are, after scarfing down MEGA-sized ice cream sundaes. And those suckers were good!
It is amazing isn’t it, how one blog can make you good friends that live 200 miles away, 1500 miles away and even all half the world away!!! So thanks to everyone for reading and responding to all our posts, and not just the great ones, but the crazy far-out ones done while we’ve been sick or stressed or just too tired to make any sense. For being our “blog friends” and rejoicing with us for an amazing thrift find and mourning the loss of another colored-tile bathroom. We love you all, and you were all with us in spirit while we scarfed down onion rings and ice cream and talked about thrifting and fluffed our crinolines.
Mid-Century Madness, forever!
