October 3, 2010Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
By Sablemable aka Jan
Before I begin the presentation of the MCM home for sale, I’d like to tell you all about my wonderful day in Grand Rapids, Michigan yesterday.
I finally met my cohorts Ruth and Sara, along with their husbands, Tom and Mike. What wonderful souls they are! Both my husband, Bob and I felt so comfortable with them and we had a glorious time discussing what else? Mid-century modern, of course! We met at Rosie’s Diner just outside of the Grand Rapids city limits for lunch, then a trip to a thrift store, and then ice cream sundaes. I think Bob rolled me out like a barrel at the ice cream place. Here are a couple of photos of me, Sara and Ruth, plus one of the husbands.
I’m in the middle, or should I say a thorn between two roses, ha-ha! Sara is on my right, Ruth on the left. Both were dressed out MCM style, and I was supposed to, but I chickened out. Sara looks so incredible with her full skirt, French Twist and Lord, the girl can put on eyeliner like nobody’s business! Perfect!
Here are the husbands, all lined up and looking handsome for the camera. Bob is in the middle and Tom’s to his right, Mike to his left. By the way, I had my camera ready just in case Tom made “bad food faces!” He didn’t.
Such a wonderful, wonderful day with friends!
Now to the house. I was so lucky to find a home in Grand Rapids to show you today. Located at 1058 San Juan Drive SE, this brick ranch was built in 1954, has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, finished basement, 2-car attached garage, and has 2,384 square feet. The only upgrades to this house was fresh paint and refinished wood floors. Kudos, owners, for making the correct upgrades! The house is listed with RE/MAX SunQuest Realty in Grand Rapids and the photos are courtesy of Keller Williams. The listed price is $219,900.00.
