Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Benton Harbor, Michigan

By Sablemable aka Jan

The house I’m showing you today has been on the market for a couple of years and the agency that had it, never posted any interior photos.  Until now.   The home, built in 1963, is a traditional brick ranch with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1,900 square feet, 2-car attached garage and  is located at 570 Valley View in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  The home sits on a secluded road very close to the Interstate 94 overpass and overlooks the St. Joseph River.  There are about 4-5 homes total on this road, by the way.  The only drawbacks about living here is no public water and sewer.  The real estate agent is Michael Enders of New Seasons Real Estate and he may be reached at 269-429-2200.    The price?  A very lovely $119,900.00.  Photos courtesy of Keller Williams (www.kw.com).

A PINK AND WHITE BATHROOM

I certainly adore this house including the location.  The kitchen countertop had been replaced, but at least not with granite.

So what do you think, readers?

Could the unknown object next to the oven be a wine cooler? Although it does seem a bit odd that it would be installed next to something that produces heat. But it looks like there are bricks in it that are designed to regulate temperature.

It is an adorable house and I liked Benton Harbor when we lived in that neck of the woods (and considering that the “handyman specials” in sketchy neighborhoods in my neck of the woods run upwards of $350,000, it seems like a steal!).

There’s just that job and snow issue thing that keeps popping up… 🙂

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I am loving the stone work on the fireplace!

Dr. Julie-Ann! Yes, the wine cooler idea came to mind; I wonder, though, if that had originally been the place for a second wall oven. LOL@snow, but being a life-long Michigander, I’m used to it.

Andreaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Isn’t the stonework lovely? One of my favorites of this house, too.

Wish I were up for a move to Benton Harbor from the east side of Michigan…
