MCM Home Improvement: Deck Your Dining Room Table

By Sablemable aka Jan

Next to Thanksgiving, the Christmas themed dining room table or sideboard is very important.  Even if it’s only family visiting, the table should declare the spirit of the holiday!

Start with a tablecloth.  It can be red or green or a print, like this vintage angel tablecloth that measures 51″x60″ and is in perfect condition for $32.00 on Etsy.com.  The seller is randomretro.

A never-been-used vintage poinsettia tablecloth, 52″x70″ offered by bennboocreations for $40.00 on Etsy.com.

Now for the centerpiece.  This is a handmade centerpiece done by seller alwaysnbloom at Etsy.com.  It goes for $39.99.

I thought this next decoration would look smashing as a centerpiece on a buffet table or sideboard.  It is an origami Christmas tree, , 11″ tall and handmade by seller origamichristmastree at Etsy.com.  This particular one sells for $20.00; the seller has more than one tree, some in groups to sell.

If you don’t want a centerpiece or have ideas for your own, you might like to decorate around this pair of Napco candlesticks that are in perfect condition.  The seller, diantiques is selling the pair for $35.00 on Etsy.com.

Your serving ware should reflect Christmas cheer as well.  This set of a coffeepot, sugar and creamer in bright red and white will do the trick.  The set is offered by seller fishbones1 for $35.00 on Etsy.com.

For the wassail, here’s a Christmas green punch bowl with cups (22).  The set of 23 is being sold by alittlebitofeverything2208 for $60.00 on Etsy.com.

For the adults at cocktail hour, how about a set of 6 gold-rimmed martini glasses?  These are being sold by treasuredepot for $25.00 on Etsy.com.

Serving dishes with a holiday flair are these ceramic pine trees.  These are being offered by seller levintagemaison for $24.00 on Etsy.com.

Of course, the hostess must also deck herself out and what better way to do that is with this handmade, vintage-style apron!  Saraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!  This is sooo you!  The apron was made by dotsdiner and is being sold for $48.00 on Etsy.com.

All of these wonderful items, plus more, can be found at www.etsy.com.  Spoil your table and treat it to some Christmas joy!  Your friends and family will love it!

Saraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! When I saw that apron, I said, “that belongs on Sara!”

Ruuuuuuuuuth!!!!!!!! It’s that time of year to be blinded by Christmas cheer, LOL!

Amy! I don’t know if there are any larger tablecloths that are vintage, as most of them run about the sizes mentioned. A repro would be great! Wish I could design one.

Amy- I did a search (retro reproduction tablecloths) and there are a slew of sites that offer these. However, most are only 52×52 or 52×65. One site, http://www.retro-redheads.com has the 52×65 cloths.
