December 27, 2010Our Christmas Doo-Dads And Dust Catchers
I know, I know. Christmas is over. But I just couldn’t resist showing you a couple of pictures I took in our house last week.
Remember the post about our vintage ornaments, and the story of my great-grandfather’s black box? Well, ornaments weren’t the only thing that that black box held.
Meet the Jolly Old Elf himself! This is one of two vintage Santa planters (my family used them as candy dishes) that were a gift from my great-aunt to my grandmother.
Here is the matching one, along with a Rudolph salt shaker. The pepper to the set has gone missing in the River of Time!
Maybe I am biased because they are mine, but I think these are the cutest salt and pepper shakers of Santa and Mrs. Claus ever!
These baby angels look like they are clinging to these candy canes for dear life! They are also salt and pepper shakers. One has some newsprint stains on her little face.
But my collection isn’t all just smiles and sunshine. Meet Angry, the Other Reindeer. This is quite possibly the scariest reindeer ever. I am not sure what the point of the homicidal clown mouth is on this guy. Maybe he is scarred from not getting to join any reindeer games. Annnyway….
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
