February 21, 2011New Vintage Finds I Love With My Whole Heart
So, I go thrifting now and again.
Okay, more than now and again.
Okay, okay, more like every week.
Fine, you’ve got me, you’ve got me. It’s even more than that.
I suppose I deserve to do some kind of penance then, to make up for my shortcomings and all the lies. Well, how about I just show you the awesome stuff I scored recently? The stuff that I adore, and that no one is going to pry out of my sweaty little paws?
Then will you forgive me?

My new obsession lately are these two adorable brass deer in a classic mid-century pose. Not sure if you can tell in the picture, but they both have these lovely little spots on them. Found at a local Goodwill for 99 cents each.
They protect our collection of Kurt Vonnegut novels fiercely.
A Ben Seibel cup from Iroquois’s Impromptu line. I have a weak spot for mid-century ceramics, and the pattern on this cup is amazing. This was found at a local Salvation army for 49 cents, and was the only one of three on the shelf that wasn’t missing big chunks.
It now sits on my desk, on top of an old index card file box.
An ultra-awesome pair of 80’s snakeskin pumps, in my size that fit. Perfectly. I am not usually a big one for 80’s fashion (why? why did it come back?) but these look gorgeous with jeans!
Now, can you find it in your heart to forgive me??
