April 21, 2011Flea Market and Thrift Store Finds!
By Sara In AZ
I have definitely been hitting up the thrift stores and flea markets lately — here is what I’ve managed to find!
I could not resist all these Time Life records about Swing music. There are 3 records in each box, along with a book too. Unfortunately, 2 of the books are missing. Oh well, at least all the records are there!
Y’all know how I adore vintage mermaids and fish!
I could NEVER pass these up!!! Not in a million gazillion years!!!!!!!
I found a really sweet old Paint By Number and a hilarious vintage Owl Planter.
Could you resist an Owl in a bow-tie???
I think this has to the the most blinged out Spaghetti Poodle I have ever seen in my life. Seriously! I stared at it for probably a complete minute before I figured out he was holding a birdcage in his mouth!
I found this sweet little Mermaid Souvenir Bell.
This is actually a little bud vase by Enesco. I thought this was SO cute, esp. with the pink Princess telephone.
She is so Joan Holloway isn’t she!
I loved this little Bubbles the Whale soap dish. Isn’t it funny how they forgot the ‘N’ – making it ‘Marinelad’!
Marineland of the Pacific was a really great oceanarium in the Los Angeles area. It operated from 1954 until 1987. Marineland of the Pacific was purchased by the owners of Sea World in 1987 and shuttered 6 weeks after the sale was complete. Bubbles is a famous pilot whale who is approximately 48 years old now. Bubbles started her career at Marineland of the Pacific in the 1960s and she was moved to Sea World after they purchased Marineland, where she continues her career today.
Lastly, I just could not pass up these vintage Playtex Swim Caps. I loved how they were still in the original boxes and how they had never, ever been used. The date on the back of the box says they were made in 1952 and they were made in the USA!
Thanks for checking out all my finds!
Has anyone else come across any cool Flea Market Finds lately?
