Won’t You Be My Neighbor? New Buffalo, Michigan

By Sablemable aka Jan

I would die to own this home!  New Buffalo, Michigan is down the highway from me, probably about a 15 minute drive.  NB is on Lake Michigan and today’s home is, too.  At 934 Lake Drive comes this 1962 built beach home that is pretty well preserved.  There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1,128 square feet of living space.  No basement, but there is city water and sewer.  The price is $750,000.00 which really isn’t bad considering it’s lakefront property.  Keller Williams Realty of Southwest Michigan can be reached at (269)982-7653 for more information.  Photos are courtesy of Keller Williams (www.kw.com).

LOVE that view! Can you imagine being that close to the water? Heaven. With a little polishing this place could be beautiful.

If it’s anything like the 50s/60s lakefront properties in my neck of the woods, the buyer will probably bulldoze it to build a bland McMansion that’s too big for the lot and stands out like a sore thumb from its older, more charming neighbors.

OMG Jan!!! We just got back from our vacation to New Buffalo. We live in St. Louis but have spent our last 3 vacations in NB. Went out for a bike ride one day and what did we stumble upon….this house! I fell in love! They have changed realtors and the last list price I saw was $463,000. I think the listing ran out in May. Not sure what is going to happen to it. I told a shop keeper in NB the price and they said that is not a deal, it’s a steal!!! I can’t get that view out of my head. It obviously needs work, but all I can invision is that sun room to be a fully screened-in room and a huge open deck beyond that! I want that house!!! Too funny I found your blog! Even at $463,000 it’s too much for me and the reno it would take, but I can dream 🙂
