MCM Home Improvement: MoMA Knows Best

By Sablemable aka Jan

This is MoMA.  She lives in Long Island City, Queens.

MoMa

MoMA, also known as the Museum of Modern Art, was born in 1929 and anything and everything modern, MoMA knows best!   MoMA has a store where you can buy modern stuff and even has reproductions of modern stuff to sell.  MCM stuff, too.

Take a look.

ROY LICHTENSTEIN FRAMED PRINT DROWNING GIRL (1963).

MOMALICHT

GEORGE NELSON MARSHMALLOW SOFA ( 1956)

MOMANELSON

EAMES MULTICOLOR HANG-IT ALL COATRACK (1953)

MOMAEAMES

CARLO MAZZERI COCKTAIL SHAKER (1957)

MOMAMAZZERI

Even though our last piece wasn’t created in the mid-century, it is a classic and will live forever, even in our MCM styled homes (yes, I want one!)  Mia Farrow poured coffee from one in the 1968 film, Rosemary’s Baby.

PETER SCHLUMBOHM CHEMEX (1941)

MOMACHEMEX

Don’t forget to visit MoMA online or in person at her “home” in Long Island City, Queens.

All of the images were taken from MoMA’s website (www.moma.org).
