Online Gallery of Julius Shulman PhotographyThe Craig Krull Gallery is currently featuring an exhibit, both in their physical gallery AND in an amazing online gallery of Julius Shulman, the famous mid-century architecture photographer,
For those of us who constantly look for even a hint of mid-century architecture on the street or in print, seeing Shulman’s work is like sinking your teeth into a slice of dark and decadent chocolate cake after spending your whole life just eating Hershey bars.
It’s shocking. It’s delicious. It’s rich and absolutely perfect. And its everything you’ve always been looking for, but never knew you wanted.
If you are in Santa Monica, I encourage you to head out to their physical gallery to take a look at the prints. And if you aren’t, like me, check out their online gallery, and dream of dark chocolate cake.

A perfect example of how good design is timeless. These photos could have easily been taken today.

So beautiful. That first one of the Stahl house is in my top 10 favorite photographs of all time, any subject, any era.
