Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Smithfield, Rhode Island

By Sablemable aka Jan

Tee-hee, the details on today’s house said, NEEDS UPDATING (my emphasis), but we here at the blog don’t believe in updating; except to upgrade it to MCM standards that is!

At 49 Maplecrest Drive in Smithfield (a suburb of Providence) sits this gorgeous and very large brick home that was built in 1951.   There are 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom, a 2-car attached garage and a finished lower level.

There is 6,159 square feet, which divided by two is roughly 3,000 sf on each level.  An in-ground pool graces the back yard.  The price for all of this MCM luxury?  $389,900.00.

RE/MAX New England has the listing and Edward Duffy is the agent, however, if you want to contact Mr. Duffy, you’ll have to do it via email at www.remax-newengland.com).  For some reason there wasn’t a telephone/cell phone number available, or else I didn’t see it due to lackacaffeine disease.

I saw so many items and details in this home that I would just love to have.  On the soffit above the kitchen sink, there is a wall clock that looks suspiciously like the one I have.   The lady of the house, needless to say, has excellent taste.

What made you call for the smelling salts, readers?

The bathroom’s awesome. I don’t care for the floor color in the basement, but I font think the house needs updating even for non mid century enthusiasts.

OMG, that green and black bathroom! I think that might be one of the nicest MCM bathrooms I have ever seen, definitely love the green and black combo! So gorgeous!

I think we all agree that the bathroom is super-duper! I wonder if the sinks are Crane. Any Crane experts out there?

That bathroom is beyond words!!! AWESOME!!! I thought it was Crane sinks too Sable, but I looked at that post I did on the Crane bathroom stuff and they are just a bit different on the front – the part that juts out from the vanity. At any rate they are FAB! Love that KP basement too!
