October 18, 2011Recent Thrifts Including A Vintage Dress, Some Nautical Fabric, Shoes and a Lamp!
Hey everyone! Filling in for Betty today, and, since I don’t have any lovely crafties to show you, I decided to give you a quick preview of all the great thrifting that I’ve been doing..
I recently stumbled on a HUGE haul of 50’s dresses at my local Salvation Army. The best part, is that they are all between a modern size 10 and 12, and they all fit me! Which is super hard to find! I started taking pics before I ironed them, then realized they looked kind of horribly wrinkled. So, I am going to iron them and then post some more pictures. And it is going to be a lot of ironing, I found 11 dresses!
A new lamp for our library! We found this pretty kid at an estate sale down the street, and both instantly fell in love with it. The underside is cracked, but otherwise functions perfectly well.
Oh, and the candlesticks were a find a few weeks ago!
Shoes! It has been crazy lately with the shoes. Most of these still even have the tags on them! Two pair are vintage Ferragamo, which I am really excited about. I even broke my own rule and bought a pair of cute vintage sandals that have never been worn before, even thought they weren’t in my size. They were just that cute!
Fabric!!! Fabric!!! This is the current contents of my awesome pull-out rolling Geneva laundry bin in my laundry room. The bottom one is actually a handkerchief, but I was so shocked with how well it matched the nautical fabric that I grabbed them both. There is about 2 or so yards of a heavy cotton in the nautical print, probably a drapery fabric. So many possibilities!
How about you guys? Any recent fun finds? I want to hear about them!
