Ugh y’all, just ugh.
You all know that Mike and I have been on the retro house hunt for awhile now. I watch new MLS listings pop up everyday, and then scan them thoroughly to see if any of them even come close to our dream house. The listing for this house popped up and I was psyched! I thought “Here it is, this has to be our dream house!”
But someone else beat us to it. When we got there to check the place out other people were already looking at the house – and had their offer practically signed and submitted. To be honest, the house was priced at the top of our range, it only had 2 real bedrooms, and needed some roofing work, along with some other fixes so I am not sure we could have afforded it anyway. It was a lost cause but we wanted to check it out anyway since we had all gone to the trouble to go there.
Check it out y’all!
Here is the front. I super love those windows and check out the awesome enclosed courtyard with the open brick-work. LOVE!!!
Here is the interior of the courtyard.
Here is a view of the open brickwork from the inside of the courtyard. Awesome!!!
This is the front entry. They had this kind of faux fireplace in there backing up to the real fireplace in the living room. They also had these FAB terrazzo floors!
Close-up of the Terrazzo. Yummy!
Loved the interior blonde doors with the original escutcheons!
Here was a sweet little pull down light in one of the bedrooms.
Check out the original kitchen. Sadly, the original counters and appliances have been replaced. I REALLY love that little built-in with the glass doors though!
This is the dining room/living room area. Those little windows along the ceiling are super sweet, and I really dig that wood paneling but that chandelier has got to go!!!
Here is one of the bedrooms. Don’t you just love that built-in vanity! Oops, looks like I caught Mike in the mirror!
This is the sweet little pink tile bathroom attached to the above bedroom. It still has the cool chrome revolving toothbrush holders. Unfortunately it looks like someone tried to resurface the bathtub – and the counters, floors and sinks are new.
This is the other bedroom. I love that ceiling fixture and check out that vanity – super cool laminate!
Here is the green bathroom! This bathroom was really beautiful and HUGE too! It had the same terrazzo as we saw in the entry and another revolving toothbrush holder! The counter and sink had been replaced though – boo.
Lastly, here is the vintage Sessions built-in ‘Talk-A-Radio’. So cute!!!
Unfortunately, this house did not work out for us but I know the right one just has to be coming our way! Soon, I hope!!! 🙂
