Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Rutland City, Vermont

By Sablemable aka Jan

Our featured home is brought to you by reader Deb Yokum, who took the time to find a mid-century modern home to share!  Thank you, Deb!

At 54 Watkins Avenue, this ranch home with a walk-out full basement was built in 1958, and, has only had one owner.  There are 3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a 3/4 bathroom and eat-in kitchen.  The exterior is wood in the front; cedar siding in the back and a concrete block foundation.   The home is listed with Century 21 Premiere Properties, 1-800-838-5565 and is going for $174,900.00

The only drawback to this home is it’s heated with oil.  Otherwise, I love this house, especially the kitchen and bathroom!

What do you like about this home, readers?

Deb, thank you so much for finding this house!  And readers, we welcome your participation on the blog, so, if you have photos of your homes, decorating, MCM homes for sale and everything MCM, send them along!  I appreciate your thoughts and comments, gang!

I love the tile work – the color combo is awesome! And that sweet kitchen and the woodwork and those scalloped edges. And I’d kill for the basement.

I love the kitchen and bathroom, only would update the counter tops just to bring them up to code. I so wish this place was in my state. We are getting ready to house hunt and the only thing we seem to agree on is we want a MCM home. One that has not been flipped the appel to the masses.

Not feelin’ this one. Nothing special about it, unless you buy a house for the bathroom tile. Otherwise, just a boring over sized shoe box.

If I could just have that pink and green bathroom my life would be complete…….. 🙂

That bathroom is awesome! And I absolutely adore those doorways – so unique!
