This IS Your Granny’s Crafting! Nature Crafts EditionBy Betty Crafter
My impermeable craft block continues, so today I show you a pretty cool craft book for kids I picked up at a recent estate sale!
Inside are some actually pretty great activities for the junior scientist in your life!
For example, did you know Feathers Are Fabulous?
Casting animal tracks would sure be interesting:
And although setting up a nature camera sounds complicated, think how much fun the results would be! Maybe we could solve the Bigfoot mystery once and for all!
Little Betty is obsessed with searching for crystals right now, and we did some stargazing on a recent camping trip:
I have a feeling that “nutting” would involve some squirrel watching, so sign me up!
Setting up and watching an insect farm could be pretty entertaining (and gross!)
I actually think all the activities in this book would be a lot of fun to do with Little Betty, and some we could even do now even though she’s only 3! I guess even with all the advancements in science since the 60s some things will never change. (Although I imagine some of the photography equipment in that one experiment might be hard to find!)

I had no idea that “nutting” was a thing! Who knew?
