Won’t You Be My Neighbor Friday Edition-St. Joseph, Michigan

By Sablemable

This home is faaaantastic, although I regret there wasn’t any photos of the bathrooms, which, I believe are still in time-capsule condition.  And the location of the home, for those of you who are familiar with the area, is right between Roxy’s Drive-In and Gersonde’s Bowling Alley, and just south of the St. Joseph High School.  The listing has this home built in 1959, however, in checking two of my city directories (1956 and 1964), the address was found in the earlier book, which means it was built earlier, maybe 1954, 1955.  The owner was a foreman with the Whirlpool Corporation, thus, he could afford this home.

The address is 2717 Cleveland Avenue and has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3,067 square feet and an indoor swimming pool.  The broker is Realty Executives Pro Brokers, (269) 429-4663 and the asking price is $624,700.00.

This looks like a great spot for a pool party, right?

Have Mercy! It’s a MCM Ranch Mansion!

Pool is nice too, but I’d have to have it filled in so it’s more shallow it looks to be a bit of a deep abiss for my comfort level.

HAHAHA! Thanks Jan! I worked at Roxy’s for years, and I always wondered just what that house back there looked like. I knew it was “fancy” from what Jerry and Shirley had told me that it was owned by someone from Whirlpool. It is neat to have a sneak look into it. The only thing wrong is it is back there…stinky location, really.

Lovely home…hopefully a true MCM lover will buy it and not trash it out.

The shape and colours of that pool is amazing. I want to gut my living room right now and put in something very similar! 😀

Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my nail polish post this week (that mint green is so cute – and wearable!), I really appreciate it, sweet gal.

    Wishing you a stellar weekend,
    ♥ Jessica
