More Vintage Sports Press Badges and Press Passes – 1940 Major League All-Star Game and More! So, I promised you more of the press badges from my grandfather’s collection, and here they are!
If you missed my last post on this, my Grandpa Art worked for the Associated Press in the darkroom and as a photographer. He had an enormous collection of famous photographs and memorabilia from Chicago from 1938 to about 1960 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and had to stop working.
A lot of his memorabilia was destroyed when my parents had a flood at there house a few years ago, but on a recent trip to their house I found these vintage passes in a cigar box!
So, enjoy! There is one more set coming up next week as I finish scanning them in. Oh, and if anyone has any suggestions for displaying this collection, let me know!

What a wonderful collection you have; such a nice reminder of your Grandpa. I also had a “Grandpa Art”. He owned an insulation/roofing company and was a pilot
My oldest son was a journalist/editor for a local newspaper sports department. He thought it was silly to save press passes and programs from professional sporting events; I told him someday someone would love to have them. So glad your Grandpa saved his!

Thanks, Sherree!! Your “Grandpa Art” was a pilot? How thrilling!
And you are right, people do appreciate the press passes!

These are too cool! I do get a kick out of the pass not being honored if presented by a woman or a child, heh!
