Madurodam – A Miniature Dutch City Built In 1952It’s called Madurodam and when you’re here you’ll feel as if a fairy wand has turned you into a giant, as if you’re Gulliver among the Lilliputians.
As your feet is a marvelous replica of a typical Dutch city with all its charm and bustle, the running trams and the sailing ships, with busy traffic on the roads, with churches, schools, theaters and factories.
You will see medieval streets and modern architecture, historic buildings and traditional events such as the pageantry of the Golden Coach in the Inner court at the opening of the Dutch Parliament.
The barrel-organ and the brass band actually play and a gay fun fair is in full swing. The whole city is full of live and movement, but everything is on a miniature scale.
