This IS Your Granny’s Crafting! Crystal Craft EditionMy favorite estate sale company recently gifted Little Betty this cute “stained glass” kit and last night we decided to try it out! As is sometimes the case with vintage kits, this one had lost its instructions along the way. But thanks to some modern technology (google!) I was able to cobble together the general idea and on we went!
The kit basically consisted of some metal frames and colored beads. The idea is that you fill up the sections of the frame with the colored beads and bake it in the oven.
Little Betty and I had a great time deciding what colors would go where and filling up the sections. I’ll be cleaning up those little beads off the floors for some time, however.
After filling up the frame with the beads we popped it in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes until all the beads were melted, then let it cool before peeling off the foil.
And this morning, to Little Betty’s delight, we have a sparkly seahorse dancing in our kitchen window. A vintage craft success!
