November 20, 20126 Weeks of Kitschmas!
by Betty Crafter
It’s that time of year again friends! You know, when your old pal Betty Crafter goes off the deep end for Christmas, or as she likes to call it, Kitschmas! From here to Christmas I’ll be sharing with you all sorts of kitschy vintage Christmas goodies, with a crafting slant. Today I’m going to show you some really creative homemade decorations from the 60s magazine “Things to Make for Christmas.”
This magazine is kind of crazy because a lot of the projects in it use things you may just have laying around the house already, like this Kleenex tree.
Seriously guys, I kinda want to make that.
But I think I’d be more likely to make this little house with carolers:
It’s kinda cute right? I’m a total sucker for little Christmas houses every time.
Or how about this “Contemporary Christmas Scene”?
If the Kleenex tree is just a little too gross for you, there’s lots of other decorative trees to choose from. Personally, I’m a fan of the pyramid tree, although I’m not sure where I’m going to find a bunch of notary seals.
And lastly, you know this is up my alley, even if it is made out of a plastic food container. I love me a terrarium. And a Christmas terrarium? I die.
Next week I’ll be back with more crafty vintage Christmas delights!
