Mid-Century Kitchens And Dining Areas From Inside Today’s Home, 1954

By RetroRuth

One of the most fun things about this blog is all of the cool stuff that random people bring me because they know that I love everything mid-century.  The other day one of my neighbor’s popped over and brought me a really amazing book, Inside Today’s Home by Ray and Sarah Faulkner. It is from 1954, and it has some great suggestions for mid-century decorating.

Of course, my favorite part of the book is all of the excellent room pictures! I picked out a couple of of my favorite kitchen and dining room pictures to share with you guys today.

Ohhhhh….I love the knotty pine!

Here  is the same kitchen from a different view. Love it!

Dining room with a two-way fireplace.

Dining room with sliding glass doors. Love.

This is a great dining room designed by Gordon Drake.

The dining room from Loch Crane’s San Diego home.

That Gordon Drake dining room is extremely spiffy – because he used MY dining room chairs! Just finished reweaving the seats on a set of four of these Hans Wegner CH32 chairs that I found at a yard sale.
