This IS Your Granny’s Crafting! Looking Forward Edition

by Betty Crafter

As is often the case at the dawn of a new year, I find myself pouring over some of my vintage craft books and magazines, planning out what I’d like to make this coming year. Wanna see?

At the top of my priority list this year is one of my favorite things – CREWEL! I’m already almost done with this sweet little pillow kit that I started forever ago and just picked up again over the holiday:

Also in the crewel category is this Try A Little Kindness kit that I’ve been hoarding but REALLY wants to be hanging on my wall already:

Next on the priority list is something that I’ve been wanting to try for awhile – papier mache. In particular, I could really get down with this necklace:

I also think Little Betty’s room is sadly lacking a psychedelic bespectacled turtle:

And as much as I love me some Gemma Taccogna, don’t you think I ought to give these Gemma-inspired hat stands a whirl?

I also want to make more dolls for Little Betty (I LOVE making dolls for some reason) and Hansel and Gretel are calling my name:

And last, although lord knows I need another purse, I just can’t help thinking this fish tote bag is destined to be added to my collection:

What about you, friends? Do you have any crafty resolutions for 2013?

Hansel and Gretel really are too cute! I think this may be the year that I finally get to my big Barbie dress project that I have been planning forever.

Sadly, crafts and me never seem to pan out, so no projects on my horizon….but I can’t wait to see that finished lion pillow!

Bettyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Oh, definately do the hat stands and turtle for Little Betty.

I like crafts but am all thumbs, however, I’m still working on my beaded curtains for the sunroom. Also, I’m working on an idea for my kitchen which involves wood, which I love to work with.
