Kool Kitsch For Sale on eBay — Vintage Photo Edition!

By Sara In AZ

I don’t know about you but I am just crazy for old photographs, especially ones from the 1940s through the 1960s. People took  a lot fewer pictures back then compared with our digital age ‘click and delete’ attitude towards pictures today…..and what they had for a picture they were stuck with – unless they decided to destroy it!

Sometimes I come across the craziest, wackiest pictures…sometimes they are endearing….sometimes just a little slice of life from the past.  I can comb through vintage picture auctions on eBay for hours, it’s so fun to see these snapshots into the past. I picked out a few vintage picture auctions that I thought y’all might like to see….so let’s take a step back in time shall we!

Wow, seriously…you know that this dining room was probably THE hippest on the block back in the day! That table and chairs……..that light……amazing! Retro Mid Century Modern Dining Room Table from seller kathysfind.

Hello sweet little girl on that superb vintage couch…..you had me swooning at the FAB Universal Statuary Chalkware  hanging on your wall! LOVE!!! Girl on Sofa With Retro 1950s Wall Decor from seller kathysphotos.

Awwwwww, just look at this adorable little girl and her dog……….and that fabulous couch, and cool TV, and great lamp, and……………I could go on and on! Little Girl With Pet Dog in Retro 1950s Living Room from seller urbanjumble.

2 words……………Frieze couch! LOVE! Let’s not forget about that super cool lamp or clock either though! 1950s Photo Dad and Daughter Assemble Puzzle from seller capnhapnin.

This picture is one of my very, very favorites for many reasons……..the spectacular Frieze sectional they are all sitting on, the lovely and festive corsage Grandmother has on, the little girl’s poodle sweater……they all just look really and truly happy. Vintage 1950s Family Photo from seller legsla.

These last 3 picture auctions have already ended, but I had to show them anyway!

How happy would you be to be able to stroll right on in to this lamp (and furniture?) shop from 1956…..I’m kind of dying over those lamps to her right…..those shades are killing me!!! Vintage 1950s Lamp Store Interior Photo from seller darrins.

Oh me, oh my………………Heywood Wakefield practically bursting outta this picture!!! WOW!!! With ALL that Heywood can you imagine what the rest of this house must look like! Amazing!!! 1966 Heywood Wakefield Furniture Home Interior Photo from seller gomodgo.

Lastly, can this picture be ANY more AWESOME……the poodle, the wallpaper, the bar, the bar stools, those perfectly posed and coiffed people!!!! Seriously, I want to morph back to November 1966 and party with these people! 1966 Mad Men Era Mid Century Modern Party Photo from seller americanphotowork.

Hope y’all had fun taking a trip back in time with me!

How odd that in two of the pictures, the throw pillows are lined up on top of the back of the sofa. What’s up with that?
