This IS Your Granny’s Crafting! Flower Loom Edition

I’ve been busy crafting up a storm getting ready for a favorite little lady’s birthday party this weekend, and my thoughts inevitably turned to ways to creatively wrap the gift. I remembered the Bucilla flower loom languishing in my crafting closet. Problem solved.

I’d never used a flower loom before but thanks to some great instructions, it was a snap! This would be a great activity for kids even, it was so easy. You just wind yarn around the loom in figure eights, basically.

Then repeat with another color on the inside loops…

Stitch around the “petals” to secure them…

And voila! A yarn flower is born. My plan is to make a few of these in different colors and wrap the gift in plain brown paper. Cute, right? And easy as pie.

NOW you are killing me… too funny. We had this and my Mom even made an afgan (quilt?) out of them. Great memory jogger – as always!

Diane, I have another loom that’s a square shape and appears to be for making granny squares. I bet that’s what your mom used!
