April 18, 2013Time To Go on a Retro Antiquing Road Trip!!!
By Sara In AZ
Mike and I have been super busy lately, so we really have not had any time to go check out our favorite antique stores…..but a few weekends ago we made it a point to take a breather a get outta dodge!
In Arizona one area we love to check out are the towns of Globe and Miami. Globe and Miami are 2 smaller towns, right next to each other, about an hour northeast of Phoenix. It makes a fun day trip when we want to get out of Phoenix and leave the rat race behind and with little antique stores sprinkled throughout each town you never know what treasures you will dig up! I took tons of pictures so y’all could see just some of the cute, retro stuff up for sale. Let’s check it out!
For $65 I thought this blond Mersman table was a very fair deal….love those legs!
Aren’t these vintage automobile pictures cute! I am not sure if they were old advertising pieces or what, but I loved the images on them. These were $2 each.
I thought these Art Deco looking lights were pretty neat, and even if they are not vintage – $60 for a set of 3 lights is a pretty good deal!
I love me some old dinette sets…and isn’t this one cool! I thought $200 was a great deal on this set.
Here is a close-up of one of the chairs and the design on the table.
These curtains were definitely vintage, and they were a heavier type material – but I do not believe they were actual barkcloth. I thought this set was a steal at$12.
There was also a cute little rose patterned “topper” valance for $6.
I loved these vintage pink Bauer pots….but at $45 each I had to pass. Super-duper cool though!
There was no price on this vintage Sears clock radio, but I thought it was really sweet!
Hee! I had to get a pic of this plastic bunny cookie jar! Love it!!! This was $12.
I thought these vintage hampers were really neat, and not a bad price either at $18 each.
I have a total weakness for vintage magazine racks and already have FAR too many….otherwise this one probably would have come home with me! This was $12.98.
Here were some cool old vintage bathroom lights. Only the larger one had a price on it, it was $14.99.
I HAD to get a pic of this vintage Howard Jonhson’s cocktail menu………the prices!!Wild!!!!The drink menu was $8.
The inside of the cocktail menu. Every drink is under one dollar! WOW!!!
There was a Heywood Wakefield dresser for sale, but it definitely needed refinishing to get it back to the original blonde. This was $350 OBO.
Lastly, I thought this Sundrella aluminum outdoor umbrella was a super steal at just $80! Unfortunately I just could not talk Mike into it. Bummer.
Sooooo, what did I pick up on our little antiquing adventure??? Come back next Thursday to find out!
