This IS Your Granny’s Crafting! The (very) Handsome Men of Fleisher’s Edition!

It may have been 1946, but apparently companies marketed to women the same way they do now – eye candy! I ran across this Fleisher’s Hand Knits For Men catalogue and hubba hubba! Someone get me a time machine!

I’ve always loved me an artsy guy, and this gentleman tinkering with his super awesome camera looks right up my alley! Never mind that he kinda looks like Elvis. I’m interested in his art, of course. Get your minds out of the gutter!

Oh my. This chiseled, perfect looking man makes this thoroughly modern woman consider getting herself into an apron and straight into a spic and span kitchen! Don’t worry honey – your favorite meal will be hot on the table when you get home!

I will overlook that cigarette because I love me a man who can pull off a bow tie. Doesn’t this guy look as jolly as Jimmy Stewart himself? I bet he’s a real gas.

Wowee. This guy is such a dreamboat I’m shy even looking at his picture for too long! Seriously. If Brad Pitt and James Dean were related this guy could be their great-uncle.

Mr. Crafter has insisted he will not mind if I fulfill my dream of knitting the family matching Kitschmas sweaters, and Clark Kent here is convincing me that this would be the perfect one! Also, I know smoking is not cool, but there’s something about a man with a pipe…

Let’s close out our trip down Very Attractive Memory Lane with this super suave gent. Where did they find these guys? On the MGM contract list? And how did men get their hair to do that back in the day?

Thanks for indulging me today while I objectified these poor knitwear models. But can you blame me? What do you think friends – if you saw one of these guys today would your heart skip a beat? Gentlemen knitwear models of 1946 – yay or nay?

I’ll admit that I’ve harbored a crush or two on the illustrated men featured on vintage pattern envelopes. There’s just something about the slick hair and pipe! 😉

I know Lacey – they look so solid and dependable, yet dreamy at the same time! You don’t see a lot of that these days…

I would like to order man number three please (and I think he is number five as well). I would like him gift wrapped as well. 🙂
