Recent Thrift Store Finds!

By Sara In AZ

It’s been awhile since I have posted pictures of my recent  thrift store finds….let’s see what I’ve found!

I found these cool Georges Briard glasses!

I got this silly little garlic shaker…..not totally sure how ‘vintage’ it is, but it is pretty cute regardless!

I bought this cute little ceramic Hagen Renaker hippo set. The pond itself is marked ‘Hagen Renaker’  on the underside and all the hippos are glued onto the pond. From what I have seen online you could buy the pond as an accessory and just attach whatever you wanted to it.

I got this FAB pink rolling pin. I love the green and chrome accents!

Isn’t this little pot holder rack funny…..that picture is so cute!

I completely love old photo albums and when I came across this completely unused vintage photo album…well, I could not pass that deal up!

Awwwwww, a sweet little owl tea bag holder…..so adorbs!

And finally…the grand finale……I found a Heywood Wakefield dining table at the thrift store!!! Can you believe it?!?!? I was stunned!!!! My Mom was with me that day and saw me hovering around the table so she came over to see what I was fawning over. I told her there was “No way I could bring home ANOTHER piece of furniture…..we are already bursting at the seams”…..plus did I REALLY want another refinishing project????? ugggghhhhhh………….But Mom insisted that this table would fit in much, much better in her  “time capsule condo” kitchen, unlike her current table. So yeah, you guessed it….the table came home with us……and I had ANOTHER refinishing project on my plate! eek! We got the table for $15.

Come back next week to see how my latest Heywood Wakefield refinishing project went!

But you’re soo good at refinishing, Sara! That table was meant to come home with you. I am also dying with the cuteness of that owl tea bag holder!

I know, you are right Andrea….it probably was meant to come home with us…..I just remember at the time I found it I had JUST finished up with ALL the refinishing projects and then we found this…..I was like “Noooooooooo” but it all worked out in the end and now Mom has a pretty little H-W table!

Love those hippos! I wonder if anyone made spaghetti hippos…

That is a good question Charlotte……I’ll bet they probably did make spaghetti hippos back in the day! Seems like I have seen every other type of animal done in spaghetti, why not a hippo too!

Now I’ll be forever on the lookout! 🙂

Oh, wow. FIFTEEN DOLLARS? That was a good buy, and it looks like one that will clean up well with just a little of your expert attention. Sometimes things just find you instead of the other way around. I’m pretty sure this was one of them!

Ha! I know what you mean Laura about sometimes things just finding us instead of us finding them……maybe sometime a *perfect* piece of H-W could find me though…….maybe???? 😉 I do agree though, $15 was a total score for a piece of Heywood! Whoooooo!!!

Awesome score with the Heywake table! Now you have to find us a HW coffee table, k? Need something to match the surfboard end tables we found on the curb! 🙂
