August 20, 2013Tuesday Etsy Roundup – Pauline’s Patio Party Edition
by Eartha Kitsch
Hey everyone! It’s Eartha Kitsch here and I was super excited when the lovely ladies at “No Pattern Required” asked me to be their Etsy scout on duty. Admittedly, I spend a lot of time on Etsy just window shopping and dreaming. And okay, sometimes buying too. One of my favorite things to do when I’m flipping through the items there is to make up storyboards in my mind about certain items and how they might connect. Let’s try one, shall we? Today’s story is about a lady who we’ll call Pauline. She’s a real life-of-the-party kind of gal and she’s having some of her favorite girlfriends over for lunch and cards on the patio. Let’s take a peek!
First up, from seller TheVintageResource:
Pauline spent a lot of time planning for her date with the girls and unfortunately had no time to go to the beauty shop. No worries though because Pauline is quite the ace with her beautiful set of electric rollers from Waring. Just a few flips of the wrist and she’s got a style that looks like she spent all day in the chair.
Next up, from seller VelouriaVintage:
This beautiful sleeveless top is just the thing that I can imagine Pauline wearing. It’s easy-breezy nylon and has an op-art print in fantastic bright colors. The girls will all clamor to know where she got it! She’ll wear it with bright yellow pedal pushers and really set the stage for fashionable fun on the patio.
Next up, from Seller AtomicVault:
Pauline’s lunch menu includes her famous pineapple and bourbon upside down cake and she’s glad to have this beautiful avocado green General Electric mixer on hand. I would be too. It’s not just handy but also gorgeous!
And from seller DeeSweetNostalgia:
Get an eyeful of these beautiful flower power snack trays, will ya? They clip right on to the patio chairs! Not only will they add a punch of color to the festivities but they’ll be a handy resting spot for those snack plates and cocktails. Especially for Pauline who is known to punctuate stories with her hands! The girls are still talking about the time that poor Rita (who happened to be sitting next to Pauline) got a neck full of crab salad during one of Pauline’s stories about her mother-in-law.
And finally, from seller MadgesHatBox:
As they often do, Pauline’s party really gets uproarious when she pulls out her “Madam Chairman” comedy album. The girls don’t know what to think at first about a man pretending to be a woman – but since Pauline is laughing along, they figure it will be okay to join in. Pauline always has been on the cutting edge of cool and it is pretty funny after all!
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this peek into Pauline’s patio party. We’ll take our party favors and leave now. We’ll just have to read about the rest of the party in the newspaper’s weekly social column! Be sure and check out Etsy for these and other fabulous vintage items so that you too can be the ultimate hostess like Pauline.
