Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Two Cute Colored Bathrooms In Dallas, TX

By RetroRuth

We have a cutie this week!

This home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it is about 1800 square feet and was built in 1953. The asking price is $200,000 and the home is being sold by Ebby Halliday.

From the listing:

Charming 50s ranch in sought-after Wynnewood. Original hardwoods. Fresh paint. Updated kitchen has quartz counters, tile backsplash, undermount lighting & breakfast area. Two vintage baths with original tile. Cozy 2nd living has fireplace. Pecan trees shade the backyard. Workshop off the garage. This gracious neighborhood is a short commute to downtown Dallas & even closer to the wonderful Bishop Arts area with its fabulous restaurants!

The countertops and flooring could easily be changed out, I think. You could even keep the counters and just put in some VCT tile flooring!

I am in love with that pink and gray bathroom! The floor, I just love the floor.

Homes That Didn’t Make The Cut This Week

The rest of this home in Oregon may not be so great, but they managed to keep the original pink and black bath!

The fireplace in the family room looks like it’s made of Roman brick the same color as the pine paneling. And I’m glad they left the front door!

I kind of like the Oregon house too – at least the open beamed ceilings. And it’s on nearly 5 acres in a gorgeous part of our gorgeous state!

What a cute house! It wouldn’t be too hard to restore the kitchen back to the 1950s – new counter, backsplash, and appliances and it’s a dollhouse!

I would replace the backsplash in the kitchen too.

The bathroom looks like my last two houses. The kitchen was like the last house before we remodeled. I wish that the hanging built in refrigerator over the counter could have been saved. The current house was built in 1958 by the developer of the area as a wedding gift for his son. The son refused, so the father moved in until his trophy wife ran off with her “guru”. We got it two owners later, and kept everything the way it was when originally built, except for replacing the two caloric ovens.
