Won’t You Be My Neighbor – 1965 Time Capsule In Wichita, KS

By Eartha Kitsch

I love, love, LOVE all-original vintage houses. It’s as if you can go inside of them and seriously suspend disbelief and pretend like you’re living back in the day. Today’s house is just like that. It’s 1965 from top to bottom – from appliances to wallpaper and drapes. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!

This house is located at 1808 N. Charlotte in Wichita, Kansas. It is a three bedroom, two bath home and is 2586 square feet. The listing price is $142,000 and it is listed with J.P. Weigand and Sons Realtors . From the listing:

Full brick ranch, ample space within, and recently discovered original hardwood floors that have been exposed. Main floor laundry! Formal living and main floor family room with wood burning fireplace. New roof in 2013. Fenced backyard, mature trees, and sprinkler system.

Those hardwoods aren’t the only original features that we’ll be discovering. Let’s see how many you can find as we take the tour!

I think this is such a handsomely modest and very well-maintained home. I’d be lying if I said that I’m not bringing some serious love for those spotless avocado green appliances and the fun wallpaper.

Did you all like this house? Tell me what you think! Could you move right in and never change a thing?

Love the kitchen, the fireplace and those louvered doors! Yep, I could have a lot of fun decorating that home.

Ohmigosh, I gasped when I saw those kitchen and bath wallpapers! I would definitely keep that. And the bedroom with the potted plant drapes? Yeah, I sort of love those too!

I would paint the creamy walls crazy colors more than likely, but there would be a lot of stuff left alone…

I love the though of grownups having their swank cocktail party while the littles watch a movie and eat popcorn in the adjoining family room. I could fantasize about a house like that forever!

Looks like you could just move in and start living the life of 1965. Not a bad deal at all.

Love the louvered doors! Identical to the ones I have in my home. Pretty much the only thing I would change in this place would be the window coverings, other than that, I am good to go!

Wow, what a treasure. I can’t decide if I love the kitchen or the basement more.
