Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Citrus Green Dream Ranch in Austin, TX

By Eartha Kitsch

I hope that you all love this week’s home as much as I do. While writing this post, I learned that this home found itself a buyer but we’ll still take a peek since it’s so pretty!  I love the citrus colors used in the exterior paint and the kitchen counter tops. All of the big windows and doors with views to the pretty yard make it even better. Thanks to Betty Crafter for alerting us to this one!

This house is located at 1904 Berkeley Avenue in Austin, Texas. It has three bedrooms, two baths and is 1,754 square feet. It was built in 1955 and the listing price was $348,900. It was listed by Turner Residential. From the listing:

1904 Berkeley is like stepping onto a Mad Men set without the second hand smoke. This truly one of a kind, south Austin mid century home features classic period styling inside and out. The yard is an urban oasis that is almost a full acre lot irrigated by its own well with large trees scattered around the property.

I love that part about how the home has “Mad Men” style but without the dangers of second hand cigarette smoke! Sounds like the perfect pairing. Let’s take a tour!

I’m thinking that some buyer got a really stunning home! What do you all think of this one? Are you a fan of the punches of color?  Which parts do you all like?

Whenever I see listing for homes, I always imagine how I would change things. I like the bare bones, but the white walls drive me nuts! In my opinion, it needs more color! Lots more!

We must be related. Never enough color for me – though I do think this bright green is a brilliant start! : )

Absolutely wonderful! We can only hope that the new owners appreciate the mid century details.

Agreed! I’d hate to think of them going to waste. I bet they got a good owner though.

I love the colours! Is that laminate on the walls of the bathroom?

I believe so. I’ve seen laminate used that way before.

I really love the looks of this house and the punches of color – all that brick and the built-ins are really cool too! I’m with Andrea – is that laminate sheets on the walls of the bathroom???

I think that it is, Sara. I wonder how it would hold up with the metal edging but I’ve seen laminate used that way before. It’s a wonder it’s lasted this long. It looks pretty though!

Wow! This house leaves me weak in the knees! I love everything about the house, especially the brick in the living room, and the dining nook too : )

I CANNOT pick a favourite thing about this house (though the kitchen is very seductive indeed)! It’s all so wonderful—I can see myself making dinner for friends and showing off my awesome blue bathroom. Great find!!!
