Lookin’ Sharp! Some Retro and Repro Menswear Sources

by Andrea

A lot of attention is given to the ladies when it comes to vintage and vintage reproduction clothing, but what about the gents? I’ve got a few online resources to share for the dapper mid-century fella!

First up, Dress That Man.com

Dress That Man.com does vintage menswear, and only vintage menswear.  Their selection is fantastic!  My hubby purchased his suit that he wore for our wedding from Dress That Man, and found their measurements for the suit to be very accurate, the time to ship the suit to be quick, and all around a good experience.

Next up, we have Steady Classics

Steady clothing is reproduction, however if you are looking for a classic, well made bowling-style shirt, look no further.  My hubby owns one of the Steady Classics button down shirts, and I can speak first hand of the quality – it really is impressive!

Steady Clothing also currently makes the Elvis Crown Electric workshirt style shirts – which I know is a perennial favourite of my husband (he’s been wearing these for years), and is always a great, eye catching retro look!

Finally, we have Rockmount Ranch Wear

Rockmount is another one that falls into the reproduction category.  However, they definitely make some gorgeous vintage-style western shirts for men!  They’ve been in business since 1946, so they definitely know how to do a vintage style pint right.  I own a Rockmount jacket, and I’ve looked at their shirts numerous times in brick and mortar stores, so I can definitely tell you that once again, this is a great, fantastically made product.

This is definitely not a traditional western shirt design, but aren’t the atomic symbols and rayguns awesome?  So mid-century!

If anyone out there has any other great retro and repro menswear resources, I would love to hear about them!

That atomic shirt reminds me so much of what Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future Part III! Har har har.

Ack! I love those western shirts! Though, the ones I really like aren’t in women’s sizes. 🙁

Yeah, it’s really too bad they don’t offer all of them in women’s sizes as well as men’s.

I’ve gotten several nice tiki and atomic shirts at Daddy-Os http://www.daddyos.com, and they ALS have western shirts and ladies vintage style clothing.
