October 13, 2013Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Woodsy Beauty in Chapel Hill, NC
By Eartha Kitsch
This week’s house is so pretty and has such wonderful views. Admittedly, the original birch woodwork is giving me the vapors. You see, I have a bit of a weakness. I just learned that this home is now pending – but even with that knowledge and the fact that it’s not anywhere near me, I still haven’t been able to stop imagining living there.
The home is located at 620 Greenwood Road in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It’s a three bedroom, two bathroom home and is about 2300 square feet. It was built in 1959 and the listing price is $445,000. It sits on a private 1.3 acres and is listed with Holleran Real Estate Company . From the listing:
One-of-a-kind,custom-designed Mid-Century Modern nestled on private lot in historic Greenwood just steps from the estate Pulitzer-prize-winning playwright Paul Green called home. Walk/bike to UNC and downtown Chapel Hill. Gleaming hardwoods and birch paneling throughout. Walls of glass framing views of your very own “Southern part of Heaven”! Open, airy living/dining/kitchen area with deck . Wood-burning fireplace in living room plus another in huge walk-out lower level family room with wall of built-ins. New Corian countertops in kitchen that cooks like crazy+hand-crafted birch cabinetry. Also lower level workshop roughed in – easy to create a gorgeous office with stunning views!
“Walls of glass Framing views of your very own ‘Southern part of Heaven’ ” – I love that. I know that this Southern gal would be in Heaven there! Let’s take a look!

Isn’t all of that woodwork so pretty against the views of nature? All of those windows…sigh. Can’t you just imagine sitting there and enjoying the views? I do have to admit that this home is one of my top favorites of the ones that I’ve featured so far. What do you all think of this home?
