Antique Show Season Begins Again! My Finds

By Andrea

Finally, antique show time again! There’s never many around here in the summer/early fall, so I am always eager for them to begin again. Here’s what I bought!

I have such a weakness for avocado green Pyrex, especially the Spring Blossom pattern! This casserole is the 1.5 quart size, which is a size I didn’t have in my collection.

With the big dump of snow we got here yesterday and today, it definitely seem like the time of year for vintage sweaters!

This sweater evidently belonged to someone who was part of the Loyal Order Of Moose!

The other thing that I liked about this was that it was from the Camrose chapter – which is a town just to the east of me. Considering the antique show was up in Edmonton, I couldn’t pass up an (almost) home town sweater!

I also loved the brand label. I am not sure who Ernie Richardson was, but he was apparently enough of a champion curler to have his own line of curling sweaters!

And finally – this probably isn’t actually mid-century, more likely 80s, but I am going to show it anyway. I was super excited to find this vintage Fisher-Price medical kit! I remember playing with an identical one when I was a kid, and Ella is big on pretending to nurse her toys, so it is perfect.

It’s missing the stethoscope, unfortunately, but other than that it looks pretty complete. I am hoping I may come across the stethoscope somewhere else at some point.

Those were my finds for this weekend! Any one else out there have any great finds lately?

Fun treasures–love the sweater. There’s a bit about Ernie on Wikipedia–apparently a champion curler and creator of the first line of curling apparel. I think you’ve found something really great!

Oh that’s even better that he was the creator of the first line of curling apparel! Thanks for the info, Ann! 🙂

I am pondering what kind of casserole I can cook for supper tonight in my new dish, LOL! Ella has been having a great time playing doctor to all of her toys, too. 🙂

I think that was exactly what I said when I saw it, Eartha! 🙂
